My little Ansco
September 13, 2008
Years ago, a friend gave me this sweet little Ansco Speedex 120mm camera from the 50s. The wheels of progress move slowly for me sometimes and the camera got tucked away in a drawer. A couple days ago, I found it and loaded it with fresh film. The f-stop, focus, and shutter speed are all controlled by dials around the lens. The front pops open to reveal the bellows and lens. I shot a roll of film on the sidewalk. Today I took it in for developing so we shall see what happens. There was also a roll of film in the camera from the previous owner and I am anxious to see what’s on that as well.

Very cool. My mom had a great Kodak when I was growing up. It had all of the controls around the lens and I did eventually figure out how to use it. But, being a kid, I was of course enamored of the “fancy” 110 cameras when they came out because they didn’t need all those detailed controls, LOL. I took so many photos with that awful 110; some of the worst pictures in my albums of old.
I still have the Nikon FE my parents bought me as a high school graduation present. I should get that out some time. It took great pics.
I wonder what’s on that mystery roll of film from your camera? Could be anything!!!
